Introduction
Yairan is the primordial spirit of Earth within the cosmology of Adaris. It embodies the physical world and represents material solidity and structure. Yairan is considered the physical Earth itself and is regarded as the foundation upon which the other primordial elements act.
Yairan arose from the chaotic energies of Astram within the primordial void when Daathir and Awenlas conceived the idea of physicality and material strength. Through this act, Yairan became the first of the primordial elements to emerge, transforming potential into structured reality and forming the basis of the tangible world.
Nature and Influence
Yairan represents all things physical within existence. Its essence is present in stone, mountain, and all material forms. As the embodiment of structure, Yairan anchors the cosmos against the chaos of Astram, granting permanence to a reality otherwise defined by constant change. This stability allows the other elements to interact and shape the material world.
Realm
The realm of Yairan is called Orethil. It was the first realm to solidify from the chaos of Astram. In its earliest state, Orethil was a vast expanse of stone, devoid of water, flame, air, or life. As the other elemental realms came into being, Orethil’s surface was eroded and reshaped through their influence, creating the diverse forms of terrain that now define the physical world.
Orethil occupies a central position among the elemental realms. It lies beneath the realm of Air, known as Caelum, and above the realm of Fire, called Angarik. The realm of Water, Pelagia, surrounds these, encompassing all fluid elements within the material plane.
Osia
Yairania is the branch of Osia dedicated to the manipulation of pure earth. Practitioners of Yairania can move terrain, shape stone, and commune with the latent spirits that dwell within the earth. This discipline is viewed as a direct expression of Yairan’ power and essence.
Significance and Worship
As one of the six primordial spirits, Yairan holds a foundational position in the cosmology of Adaris. It is through Yairan that the physical world came into existence. While the realms of Fire, Water, and Air have distinct domains, their actions ultimately influence and reshape Orethil, the realm of Earth, which remains the central foundation of all material reality.
