Introduction
Fewe'yo Forest is a large forest in the northeast of Ezinco, in the Western Lowlands of Balúrail. It covers 1,319 mi² (3,416 km²) between the border of the Mifajene Reservation to the north, the Mazar River to the east and Lake Onzirro to the south. It is the second largest forest in the lowlands.
Etymology
Fewe'yo is the Mifajene word for "smoke".
Ecology
Fewe'yo is a light forest of the kind found on the drier ground of the lowlands. Balúrail Pine is its most common tree, and Balúrail Spruce grows where the forest meets the swamps.
Historical Significance
The forest lay within the lands of the Mifajene before the Tuzquão conquest of the lowlands. It became part of Ezinco when the state was chartered in 612 ME.
Cultural Significance
The forest supplies timber, and logging is one of the industries of Ezinco.
Settlements
There are no towns or cities in the forest. The nearest are Chudrelho, on Lake Onzirro, and Pengusse, on the Onzirro River, to the south. Mifajene live dispersed across Ezinco, including in the forest.
