Introduction
Eimbuver is a territory of the League of Balúrail, in the northeast of Balúrail. It covers the northern part of the Eastern Highlands and is a sparsely populated country of forested hills, frequent fog and dangerous wildlife. Its only inhabitants are about 7,000 free Mifajene, who live in villages along the Naushailo River and the Toso River. It has no capital and no cities.
Etymology
Eimbuver comes from the Tuzquês word eimbuverite, "wilds".
History
The Mifajene, created by Tahami, lived throughout Balúrail before the arrival of the Tuzquão. When the Tuzquão conquered the lowlands between about 290 and 340 ME, they did not reach the northern highlands, and the Mifajene bands there were never subjugated or moved to the Mifajene Reservation. They are known as the free Mifajene.
The League organized Eimbuver as a territory in 790 ME, four years after Gurverde was chartered as a state, to claim the rest of the highlands. It has not been settled by the Tuzquão.
Geography
Eimbuver covers 43,558 mi² (112,815 km²). It borders the Mifajene Reservation and Ezinco to the west, the latter along the Mazar River, and Gurverde to the south along the Tozinhis Hills. To the east the Mazissage Mountains separate it from Gosterra, and to the northwest it faces the sea.
The land is mostly rolling hills and rugged terrain, cut by numerous rivers. The Doye Forest, the largest forest in Balúrail, covers much of the north and center of the territory. It is very dense and difficult to cross. Mount Aléu stands in the Mazissage Mountains in the east.
The Naushailo River flows west through the Doye Forest to the coast, and the Toso River flows north to the sea at Sejelheto. The Mifaje River crosses the far north. The Layeka and Talno rivers join to form the Eppevee River, which flows southwest to Promia; there it meets the Mazar and becomes the Cumaro. Lake Barite, in the southeast, drains south by the Anza River to Lake Diate in Gurverde. Lake Layemshemwo, in the west, is shared with the Mifajene Reservation. Layemjafa Bay, Oshte Bay and Yece Bay lie on the coast.
Climate
Eimbuver has long, cold winters and short, warm summers. It is drier than the lowland coast, and fog is frequent. The hills grow colder toward the Mazissage Mountains, which have long, snowy winters.
Flora and Fauna
Goverment and Politcs
Eimbuver is administered by a territorial governor, who sits in Gurverde. The League's authority is nominal: it maintains no towns, forts or officials in the territory. The free Mifajene do not accept the League's claim. The territory is remote enough that there is no active conflict, but they attack outsiders who enter their land.
Demographics
The only permanent inhabitants of Eimbuver are the free Mifajene, who number about 7,000. They live in the northwest of the territory. Sejelheto, the largest village, stands on the coast at the mouth of the Toso River. The others lie along the Toso and along the Naushailo in the Doye Forest: Dojemna, Logowe and Teshdozo on the Toso, and Shebum, Delomoceki and Dojemhane on the Naushailo. No Tuzquão live in the territory.
Transportation
There are no roads in Eimbuver. Paths link the Mifajene villages along the two rivers. The rest of the territory can be reached only by traveling upstream by river or overland through difficult terrain.
