Introduction

Ezinco is a state in the League of Balúrail.

Etymology

Named after the Tuzquão explorer Lezério Ezinco who founded the city of Ezinco.

History

Ezinco was chartered as a state in 612 ME. It is the second newest state in the League.

Geography

Ezinco is a marshy region located in northwest Balúrail. The majority of Ezinco is composed of the Ginquil Swamp and the Onzirro Swamp. Three large lakes, Lake Arco, Lake Onzirro, and Lake Lebolur, and two smaller ones, Lake Chininque and Lake Corrembirim, dot the landscape. The Onzirro River flows through the land. The population is centered on a narrow strip of fertile and relatively dry land (it still gets flooded frequently) between the two great swamps, known as the Moro Strip, and along the coasts of Lake Arco and the Minope River.

Climate

Like the rest of the Western Lowlands, Ezinco has long, cold winters with extended freezing periods and short, warm summers. Ezinco has the most rainfall in the League of Balúrail and has some of the highest in all of Dalel.

Flora and Fauna

Winter ferns and pine trees are the main flora in Ezinco. Within the swamps numerous medicinal herbs and berries can be found, some with valuable properties.

Economy

Ezinco's economy centers around the numerous bounties found in the nearby swamplands. Additional industries include logging, tourism and general trade. Pilgrims to the House of Tahami often depart from the port city of Ezinco.

Demographics

Ezinco is the least populated state in the League. The vast majority of the population is located in and around the city of Ezinco. The rest of the state is inhabited by smaller villages. Most of Ezinco is uninhabited.

Transportation

Transportation in Ezinco is limited. There are no major roadways and the roads that do exist often get flooded or washed out. The city of Ezinco has a deepwater port and allows for access to the rest of Balúrail and beyond.
