|Introduction=Gostíria is the southernmost state in the League of Balúrail.
|Geography=Gostiria covers 68,207 mi² (176,655 km²). Most of it lies in the Western Lowlands, and its northeast rises into the forests of the Eastern Highlands. It borders Ivaiê to the west along the western channel of the Diate, Gurverde to the north, and Khamria to the east across the Mazissage Mountains. The northern border runs from the Diate near Figo across Lake Bata at Mau, through the Sirilquito Hills and across Lake Arrerem, then follows the Nagua River to the mountains.
|Etymology=Gostíria is a compound derived from the Tuzquão words gostilde (coast) isgerria (accessible).

Flora
The Egoaldigo Swamp covers much of the south of the state, behind the coast between Parintis and Lusbá. The land north of it is swampy and floods often. The Sirilquito Hills cross the northwest, and the ground between them and the Diate is closely farmed. The Itanha Forest and Lake Matago lie in the northeast.

Fauna
The Diate forms the western edge of the state and reaches the sea in a delta at Têr. The Arago River joins it at Marca. The Irila River flows southwest past Emos, Verme and Recrê to the sea at Tabe, and the Ipendra River flows from Lake Pedrim to Marilão. The Sovoia River rises in the Sirilquito Hills and crosses the Egoaldigo Swamp to Preto. The Mino River flows from Lake Arrerem through the Itanha Forest to Lake Urdim, where it is joined by the Feroz River, and continues to Vota Bay at Bedebó. In the east, the Midara River flows from Lake Matago, and the Pezir River reaches Serim Bay at Larne. The largest lakes are Lake Urdim, Lake Pedrim, Lake Marcoê and Lake Matago.

The coast runs from Canea Bay in the west past Sorso Bay, Vero Bay, Ipram Bay, Gurupe Bay, Vota Bay, Serim Bay to Zol Bay in the east. The islands of the Diate delta, among them Sorre, Soro, Alo, Pedo, Crave and Arim, belong to Gostiria, as do Luco Island, Boasper Island and the Tapura and Conso Islands.

Climate
The south coast has long, cold winters that are slightly milder than those inland, with frequent fog and heavy rain. The interior lowlands have extended freezing periods in winter and short, warm summers. The highland forest of the northeast is drier, and grows colder toward the mountains.

River traffic on the Diate passes through Marca, Itape and Brão. Iron is mined in the Sirilquito Hills, and the land between the hills and the Diate is the state's main farming district. Geography

Gostiria covers 68,207 mi² (176,655 km²).

Economy

Gostiria's economy rests on its ports. Seagoing ships call at Lusbá, Tabe, Marilão, Parintis, Preto and Zol, and shipbuilding is a major industry along the coast. River traffic on the Diate passes through Marca, Itape and Brão. Iron is mined in the Sirilquito Hills, and the land between the hills and the Diate is the state's main farming district. Peat is cut in the Egoaldigo Swamp, which is also a source of medicinal herbs, reached by way of the Sovoia River. The Itanha Forest supplies timber, and the railway from Arremíria carries the goods of Gurverde to Vota Bay.

Demographics

Gostiria has about 620,000 inhabitants, nearly all of them Tuzquão. About half live in its cities, most of them on the coast and along the Diate; the interior is sparsely populated. There is no significant Mifajene population.

Transportation

Gostiria is served by railways. One line follows the east bank of the Diate from Tabe through Têr and Itape to Mau, with a spur to Marca, and continues through Aribo to Arremíria in Gurverde. The coastal line runs from Tabe through Marilão, Parintis and Preto to Lusbá, and on through Bedebó and Larne to Zol, with a branch to Gome. A third line runs north from Vota Bay to Arremíria. Roads follow the coast and the main rivers, and those across the swampy interior are often flooded.

Seagoing ships use the harbors of the south coast, and barges work the Diate, the Irila and the Mino. A single road leads east from Issisdo across the Mazissage Mountains. It is the only land route to Khamria, and it is dangerous: bandits operate in the mountains.
