Introduction
The Society of Truth is a secret society in charge of the League of Balúrail. The Society's membership is a closely guarded secret. The society controls all manner of government in the League, including assigning governors and mayors, along with control over the military. Public figures are not necessarily members of the society, just appointed by them and given orders.
History
The Society grew out of the group that secretly planned the independence of the Balúrail settlements from the Kingdom of Bóinbile. The need for secrecy shaped it into a hidden government. Independence was declared in 289 ME, and the Kingdom did not contest it. The Society has governed the League since.
