Talk:Mature Spirits

From Adaris

So mature spirits are simply more defnied concepts within the Aldarian world. So while a nascent spirit may be a single fleet gust of wind, and the concious embodiment of that fleeting wind moment, a Mature spirit may be a more definied concept that exists long enough for the nascent spirits to evolve. So this can be things like a guardian of a reigion, if that was believed into being by a group effort thus coalcising the nascent spirits over a long period of time. It can also be new concepts pulled from existing concepts. A dam is created over a river. That dam now has physical form and there's a concept behind the dam. If that dam remains it will become a mature spirit. If for some reason that dam was in place for eons it could, in theory, be an ancestral spirt (the correct name for ancient). Perhaps a better example is with a myth or story. If I create a story it's a nascent concept. Created from potential mater. If that story becomes widespread the story itself becomes a mature spirit with a life of its own. This spirit can take physical form although most probably won't. So the spirit doesn't have a "job" or a "duty". The mature spirit just is, the concept it embodies is just matured and now more stable and more concious. It has its own power. It can dream itself and interact with the world. If that same story became a religion or folklore then it's an ancestoral spirit. A spirit that itself has great conciousness and abilities maybe even the ability to form its own realm and create a space for itself. .
