Miras-Kael is the current ceremonial head of the Rite-Keepers, bearing the title of Tread-Walker—a position of sacred authority tied to the preservation and enactment of resonance rites throughout Kar-Thal and greater Terasil. As guardian of the Stonesteps, Miras-Kael is entrusted with the spiritual initiation of new ritualists, oath-binders, and resonance interpreters, and is rarely seen outside of formal rites.

Biography

Little is publicly known of Miras-Kael’s early life, in keeping with Rite-Keeper tradition. Their name first appears in civic records following a ceremony known as the **Descending Echo**, during which Miras-Kael was observed guiding three initiates through the lower half of the Stonesteps while maintaining full harmonic silence—a feat rarely attempted and never previously completed without faltering tone.

They rose to prominence during the Reconstruction of the Outer Vaults, where their orchestration of rite-harmonics stabilized the layering of resonance tablets near collapse. Soon after, Miras-Kael assumed the mantle of Tread-Walker, making them the central ceremonial figure in all major rites from Surn’s Refuge to the Echo Altars of Sanctuary Vale.

Unlike many predecessors, Miras-Kael has chosen not to speak outside of ritual. Their commands are issued through gesture-sequences, resonance taps, or echo-breaths. This self-imposed vow of silence has deepened their presence among initiates, who regard them as a living conduit of the stone’s unspoken will.

They are currently the only known Rite-Keeper who holds active authority in **all three harmonic paths**—Oath-Binding, Resonant Descent, and Public Interval Synchrony.
