Introduction
Ingur River is a freshwater river that rises on the eastern slopes of the Mazissage Mountains and flows eastward across Lurțilia, emptying into Lake Ingur in the central Baviare Vale. It is the main source of surface water in the Vale and supports settlement, agriculture, and wildlife across otherwise arid savanna.
Source and Drainage
The river rises on the eastern slopes of the Mazissage Mountains, where rain and underground flow gather into a stream on the plateau of Vale’s Edge. At the western boundary of Lurțilia it drops over the escarpment in a wide waterfall, Senerge Falls.
Below the falls it crosses the length of Lurțilia from west to east, with shallow banks and occasional braided channels. It flows all year and runs low in summer. Its course is a corridor for migrating animals.
The Ingur River ends in Lake Ingur, where its flow slows into wide, sediment-heavy shallows. It supports the nearby settlements of Luropiră and Ingur.
