Introduction
Qaaniguaq is the realm of Tñarilu, the Primordial Spirit of Light. It is a vast, radiant domain of endless overflowing light. Qaaniguaq embodies the very essence of light itself, serving as the eternal counterbalance to the realm of darkness, Woncu.
Qaaniguaq took shape when light and darkness drew apart on either side of Dalel, at the end of the Era of Isolation. Tñarilu, shaped Qaaniguaq as a realm where light is not merely illumination but a tangible force that sculpts reality itself.
Etymology
Derived from the word Inguik word Qaanangigguaq meaning vast light.
History
The Birth of Qaaniguaq
In the beginning, when Umalyu awoke within the Napadéh, the interplay of consciousness and imagination brought forth the Primordial Spirits. Among them was Tñarilu, the Spirit of Light, whose awakening ignited the first light within the darkness of Ákyar. This light later took shape as Qaaniguaq.
Tñarilu wove Qaaniguaq's first structures from the purest essence of light, shaping landscapes. Unlike other realms, Qaaniguaq did not arise from material elements but from the very force of illumination itself, rendering darkness nonexistent.
The Dawn Wars
Light and darkness existed before Dalel, but neither had a bounded place of its own. When they drew apart, Tñarilu's light took shape as Qaaniguaq on one side of Dalel and Náiluv's darkness as Woncu on the other.
When time began, near the end of the Great Erosion, and the boundaries between the realms had collapsed, the Dawn Wars began: an endless conflict between Tñarilu and Náiluv for control of space. Neither side can win. The balance between light and darkness, the Great Equilibrium, is like a scale that constantly tips one way and then the other, and its shifting produces day and night on Dalel.
Some ancient texts speak of a time when Tñarilu's radiance nearly overpowered the cosmos, threatening to dissolve all into pure illumination, before Náiluv drove it back.

The Age of Illumination
Early in the Dawn Wars, the first of the Inguik emerged, their forms sculpted from Tñarilu’s own radiance. These beings became keepers of cosmic knowledge, guiding souls and seekers toward enlightenment.
During this age, mortals across Adaris began to perceive Qaaniguaq’s influence, leading to the development of cults and philosophies centered on light as truth. The art of weaving light itself, was first practiced in Qaaniguaq, granting artisans the ability to shape illumination into physical forms, creating structures of light that could be carried beyond the realm.
The Celestial Veil and the Modern Era
As Adaris evolved, Qaaniguaq grew more distant from the material world, separated by the Celestial Gulf, a luminous boundary only the worthy can cross. Some scholars believe this shift was intentional, meant to keep Qaaniguaq's overwhelming purity from interfering too much with mortal affairs.
Geography
Qaaniguaq is defined by its unending brilliance. Every surface emanates light, and shadows cannot form, for light bends and flows like a tangible force. The landscapes are ethereal, sculpted from luminous crystals, golden fields, and rivers of pure light.
