Introduction

Gostaldi is the language of the Gostaldi and of the Kingdom of Bóinbile in Gosterra. It is the ancestor of Tuzquês.

Etymology

The language takes its name from the Gostaldi people.

History

Gostaldi descends from Bintzaila, the language of the settlers who landed in Gosterra in the Great Migration. It was the language of the Kingdom of Bóinbile, founded in 151 ME. In 201 ME settlers from the Kingdom carried it down the coast to Balúrail, where it later developed into Tuzquês.

Distribution

Gostaldi is spoken in Gosterra. The Gostaldi also speak Heiosdyn.

Phonology

Long vowels are written with an acute accent, as in Bóinbile and Séan. Vowel pairs such as ea, ai and oi are common, as in Beascar and Bóinbile, and h after a consonant marks a softened sound, as in dh.
