History

Oraakkik is thought to be as old as the Inguik, who were created when the Dawn Wars began, c. 55,000 BME.

Distribution

Phonology

Oraakkik has three vowels, a, i and u, written e and o before q and r. Long vowels are written double, as in Qaaniguaq. Consonant clusters become doubled consonants, as in Oraakkik; only r may stand before another consonant. A word begins with a vowel or with p, t, k, q, s, m or n, and ends in a vowel or in p, t, k or q. The language uses no accented letters.
