- Maybe each ascendant spirit "bonds" with another ascendant spirit. Gender doesn't matter but one spirit is of the physical realms and one spirit is of the intangible realms. They partner and live together in the realm, each shaping one aspect of the realm and thus its inhabitants. The intangible spirit tends to shape the humans and their personalities/cultures, while the physical spirit tends to shape the flora, fauna and overall geography of the realm.
- For example in Minthal, we have Desima the ascendant spirit of Greed and Desire who is partnered with the unarmed ascendant spirit of caves.
