Introduction
Bastere is a fortified outpost positioned at the northern edge of the Binzir Hills, where the terrain descends into the expansive wilderness of Lurțilia. Though located within the bounds of the Binzir Hills, the outpost exists primarily to observe and manage movement into the uninhabited Lurțilia. It functions as a monitoring and staging station for Guziria patrols and researchers studying large-scale wildlife patterns and geological shifts.
Etymology
Bastere is the Arânzeni word for "edge" or "margin".
Geography
Built on a raised ridge with direct sightlines across Lurțilia. The surrounding hills are dry and uneven, scattered with loose rock and brush. The outpost is partially recessed into the stone for wind protection.
History
The site was established following increased reports of Slameoth activity approaching the Binzir Hills. Bastere now serves as the primary access point to the Lurțilia region.
