Introduction
The Morusi are a race of humans who live in the swamps of Payalwa. They are influenced by the Ascendant spirit of myth and folklore the Moevre and the swampland to which they call home.
Origin and Nature
Like all Humans, the Morusi are descendants of the Ankasa, the original human's who arrived on the physical plane of Orethil.
Biology and Physical Traits
The Morusi have dark brown skin with black curly hair. They trend on the shorter side of humans.
Culture and Society
The Morusi have a unique governing structure. The government is run by a male only society known as the Heritage Defenders. Membership and induction in the society is secret. The society issues proclamation through the Voices. Their is nominally a Voice in each population center. The Voices are, according to themselves, not members of the society themselves.
The Morusi tend to value close family units and allegiance to their individual settlements. While known throughout Adaris as great storytellers, with some able to literally bring stories to life, they tend to view other races as less than. While not isolationist, the remote nature of Payalwa tends to limit contact with outside influences.
