Introduction
Denyen is the language of the Denyen, the warden race of Pavkanai, in Goingieng, the realm of imagination and dreams. The spirits of imagination speak it alongside Tivayi.
Etymology
The language shares its name with the Denyen, a shortened form of saengzvienz, "dream".
History
Denyen is thought to be as old as the Denyen themselves, whom Pavkanai formed after the Great Erosion, once the Dawn Wars had begun.
Distribution
Denyen is spoken in Goingieng. It is not known ever to have been spoken in Dalel.
Phonology
Denyen words are built from short syllables, each carrying a tone. The tone is written with a final letter, z, j, x, q or h, as in saengzvienz and homhuengj. Names taken from Denyen often drop these letters, as in Denyen and Goingieng.
