Introduction

The Mundari are a race of giants native to Khamria. They live in small bands in the mountains of the Barerte Waste and hold most of that subregion. Their political body is the Order of Servants.

The name Mundari comes from early settlers hearing what the Mundari call themselves, il-mundanyuri, which means "mountain people". The name of Khamria comes from Ḫamriya, the Mundari word for soil or earth.

Origin and Nature

The Mundari were created by Kúsi, the Ascendant Spirit of talus, loess, and strata, during the Age of Ascendance. They are giants and have long lifespans.

Biology and Physical Traits

Mundari stand 8–10 ft (245–315 cm) tall. Most have a single eye. Some have two.

Culture and Society

The Mundari are a tribal people who live in small bands and are fiercely territorial. They are governed as a loose theocracy, the Order of Servants. Two-eyed Mundari are regarded as too human and are often expelled.

Spirituality and Beliefs

The religion of the Mundari holds that humans are a pestilence on the land.

Relations with Other Races

Contact with the Arânzeni was violent from the start, when they crossed the Bogh Mountains into the Barerte Waste in 300 ME. The Mundari are in conflict with the Arânzeni, both those of the Arânzeni Confederation and the tribes of the Barerte Waste, and defend their territory against them.
