Working reference for choosing public-domain art for each people and culture of Adaris. The real-world movements and artists named here are for picking images only; they are never named on the wiki itself. Each entry gives the chosen style, the artists to draw from, and the wording used on the wiki.

Tuzquão (League of Balúrail)
Chosen style: Nordic mood painting and national romanticism.

Balúrail is modeled on Finland and inland Russia, and is misty, cold and secretive. Nordic mood painting fits the climate: cold lakes, birch and pine, long dusk and winter light. Its national-romantic side, in which a people paints its own land to define itself, suits the Tuzquão identity that formed after independence.

* Landscapes: Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Eero Järnefelt, Pekka Halonen, Prince Eugen, Harald Sohlberg (Winter Night in the Mountains), Peder Balke, J. C. Dahl.
* Portraits: Albert Edelfelt, Eero Järnefelt, Akseli Gallen-Kallela.

Other styles that also fit, for occasional use:
* Tonalism (Whistler's nocturnes, late George Inness): soft fog, muted color, forms dissolving in mist. Good for the swamps.
* Symbolism (Arnold Böcklin, Isle of the Dead; Fernand Khnopff; Hugo Simberg): veiled figures, masks, closed doors, unexplained scenes. Good for works connected with Mavai.
* Russian landscape painting (Isaac Levitan, Ivan Shishkin): good for the highland forests of Gurverde.

On the wiki: "Tuzquão painting is known for atmospheric landscapes of mist, water and winter light, and for portraits; works associated with Mavai often show veiled or masked figures and unexplained scenes."

Other Tuzquão visual arts: mask-making (major, tied to Mavai), wood carving, textiles; photography in use since the mid-800s ME (invented elsewhere).

Mifajene
Chosen style: Hausa art (matching the Hausa language tool used for Mifajene names).

* Relief decoration on walls: raised geometric patterns on the outer walls of houses, as on the decorated façades of Zaria and Kano. The Mifajene build with the Path of Tahami, so the decoration is shaped into the walls as they are raised.
* Embroidery: dense geometric embroidery, as on the Hausa babban riga, on the few garments they wear (sashes, wraps, mantles for occasions) and on hangings.
* Calligraphy: the Mifajene script used decoratively on walls, objects and documents, as Hausa ajami writing is.
* Carving: wood and bone.
* Cave art: the oldest surviving works, in the Donal Hills.

Avoid "close to nature" framing: an established, sophisticated tradition of its own.

Other peoples (earlier decisions)
* Kesomir (wardens of time): surrealism; featureless humanoids.
* Nuworno (wardens of darkness): images made by inverting the colors of light imagery.
* Saevien (wardens of dreams): etchings of figures built of open, box-like frames.
