Introduction

Arafia, the Primordial Spirit of darkness and night, emerged from the chaotic energies of Astram within the Primordial Void. Born as a counterbalance to the radiance of Dharas (light), Arafia is defines the darkness of night and the mysteries of the unknown.

Nature and Influence

Arafia embodies the night sky and the hidden depths of existence.

The physical world of Adaris hangs between the realms of light and dark. As the world turns, it shifts between the influence of Noirra and Aurelion, creating the cycles of day and night.

Realm

The realm of Arafia, known as Noirra, is a domain of pure darkness. Unlike any other realm, Noirra is a vast expanse where no light can penetrate. It is a place of absolute blackness, where sight is impossible.

Noirra is, however, not an empty void. Inhabitants exist there living their lives in total darkness.

Osia

The practice Osia that deals Arafia, is complex and deals with various manners of darkness.

By attuning to nascent spirits of Arafia’s essence, they can manipulate darkness as a tool, using it to hide or protect.

The power of darkness is a dangerous one. Those who dwell too long within the blackness risk becoming lost within, their identities dissolving into the void.

Cultural Practices

While depictions of Arafia exist, they are only interpretations. The true form of Arafia is that of pure darkness. In art, Arafia is almost always represented using charcoal and customarily depicted as a man.
