Introduction
Surn’s Refuge is a vast, vaulted sanctuary district carved deep within the stone body of Kar-Thal. Known for its mineral formations, pillar rings, and architectural stillness, the district serves as the ceremonial soul of the city. Named in honor of Surn-Zal, an early civic chronicler and architect, the district is where Duranthi citizens gather for sacred observances, rites, and carved remembrance during seasonal or seismic cycles.
History
Surn’s Refuge was among the first deep chambers discovered during Kar-Thal’s downward expansion. Originally a natural mineral hollow most likely used by the Orasians.
