Introduction
The Berturracioi (singular Berturracio) are a nomadic human people of the Arezilur Desert, known for their mastery of survival in the shifting dunes. They travel in caravans and are guided by their oracles. Their patron spirit is Nāaon, the Ascendant Spirit of illusions and shadows.
Etymology
The name Berturracio (pl. Berturracioi) is from Barimbertutterraci, meaning "desert people" in Berturraci.
Origin and Nature
The Berturracioi are human and descend from the settlers of the Great Migration. They came to Arezilur by sea around 400 ME, landing at what is now Gristilia, and spread from there into the desert.
Culture and Society
Their caravans are mobile cities, and each member of society plays a crucial role.
Spirituality and Beliefs
The Berturracioi revere Nāaon. Their oracles commune with Nāaon and receive guidance in the form of visions. Arihis, the Ascendant Spirit of desert, sand and glass, represents freedom to them, as a people unbound by permanent settlements.
